The present research focuses on translator education, this being the subject of the current inquiry. It should be noted that there are many aspects that need to be taken into consideration when analysing and evaluating the process of teaching future translators and there are several factors that affect the quality of the translator training process. There is no doubt that translator educators have an immense influence on the excellence of translator training programmes. The object of the present paper lies in compiling a list of different teaching methods translator educators could make use of when educating future translators. The aim of the research is to study and compare the use of these teaching methods in translator training in Tallinn University and the University of Helsinki. The problem of the study is to find out how effective the methods are considered to be and what affects the choice of teaching methods to be used in translator education. |
